To further practise reading, after dealing with a number of similar texts in our coursebooks, students of A2 to C2 levels have joined the school’s groups on www.readtheory.org where their linguistic and reading progress is tracked and constantly exhibited to the teacher of the class, who has access to all reading texts, the correct answers and corresponding explanations. There is evidence of great improvement in comprehending complex questions and spotting key ideas as well as details. The students choose how long they spend reading and they receive reading scores, progress reports, knowledge points and motivating badges for their work. In our lesson together, we discuss the results and tackle possible comprehension issues.
