How are you ? I’m writing to tell you about my city.
It’s called Heraklion and it is in the south of Greece .It has got 200.000 inhabitants and a lot of ancient sights.There is the palace of Knossos , Gortina’s , Malia’s and Festos palace. The most famous of these is Knossos palace. The palace of King Minos was an incredible centre of civilization which was built about 1500 B.C. Heraklion’s harbour was built by the Venetians . They had built the fortress of Koule,the Venetian fortification in 1523 up to 1540 .They had built Morosini’s fountain , too !
Near Heraklion there is Samaria’s gorge .The gorge of Samaria is the longest in Europe with 18 km length .You can visit Heraklion in winter and in summer .In winter , you can go ski,taste traditional Greek food and make snowmen in the snow ! In summer ,you can go to the beautiful clean beaches , go for a walk to the centre or better you can go shopping to Talos Plaza !
Talos Plaza is a very crowded shopping centre with many facilities .There are shops , cafes , cinema rooms etc. The fantastic view of the sea can change your mood !
In conclusion ,Heraklion is a very beautiful city and you have to visit it !!
