Personal background, upbringing and experience (social class, religion, age, gender, nationality, race, appearance)-> ignorance and/ or fear-> Stereotypes (unchanging, usually illogical, mental images stemming from overgeneralization) -> prejudice/ bias(es)/ prejudiced against (adj) -> discrimination/ discriminatory behaviour / discriminate against (v) -> sexism, ageism, racism, nationalism-> narrow mindedness vs open mindedness= tolerance= acceptance of difference
