Yesterday an interesting discussion among all advanced learners took place in the projection room of our school. The fact that February serves as a rememberance of the African- American history and achievements gave us the wonderful opportunity to find out more about this race of people and further reflect on the important issue of tolerance and other interrelated concepts.
The following slideshows were used to accompany our discussion and facilitate the students’ notetaking efforts. Through written and oral input, students were able to compile a list of terms relevant to tolerance and comprehend deeper cause-and-effect relationships.
The links to the two music videos used to add some spice to the presentation:
The homework task assigned after the presentation:
Write an email (of about 300 words) to your classmate describing what we did in this lesson that he/she missed. Explain all the concepts we discussed and provide relevant examples. Finally, express your own opinion on how tolerant people are nowadays and suggest ways of improvement in case you think it is needed.
